Rainwater Tanks
Don't pour money down the drain .... help save our most precious resource .... water
Not having a rainwater tank is like pouring money down the drain. Gathering fresh rainwater in your rainwater tank will help preserve our liquid assets for generations to come. |
Biskon Plumbing provides your total rainwater installation solution from selection of appropriate water tank to installation and connection to Melbourne Water, according to Melbourne Water's guidelines. Our experienced, qualified plumbers only install water tanks from the market leaders.
Used correctly, rainwater tanks are an effective way to take the pressure off our limited water resources, and at the same time, help manage stormwater run-off by recycling precious rainwater. Rainwater run-off from your roof can be stored in a rainwater tank and can provide a valuable source of water for flushing toilets, watering gardens and washing cars. Rainwater can also be used in washing machines.
Melbourne Water requires that your rainwater tank be installed by a qualified plumber when connected to your internal plumbing.
Biskon Plumbing has experienced and qualified plumbers who can install your new rainwater tank in Metropolitan Melbourne.

Councils stripped of control over water tanks, recycling
|
Victorian councils have been stripped of their powers to scrutinise the installation of rainwater tanks or recycling systems for bath, shower and laundry water.
The State Government has announced the changes in a bid to encourage households to save water.
Premier Morris Iemma says the two measures aim to encourage households to take the initiative in saving water.
There will also be a $150 rebate for people purchasing energy efficient washing machines.
The Minister for Water Utilities David Campbell says households will still need a qualified plumber if they want to recycle their grey water.

How Does a Rainwater Tank Work?
|
Rainwater tanks store rainwater run-off from catchment areas like your roof.
In most cases, the water from your roof is funneled along your gutters and into downpipes connected to your tank.
If you are going to install a rainwater tank, alterations to your guttering may be required.
To get the best out of your rainwater tank, it's important to install appropriate screens to stop debris and insects entering the tank.
Your experienced Biskon Plumbing plumber can advise on the most suitable installation for your home.
